Housing markets where price gains have been more moderate during the recent residential boom may be poised for the strongest growth in 2023, according to Realtor.com. One Texas city made the top 10 ranking of markets positioned for growth in 2023. El Paso ranked No. 2 with sales projected to grow by 8.9 percent and prices by 5.4 percent. Homes in El Paso sold for a median of $291,000 in November.The top-ranked city in the survey was Hartford, Conn., with prices projected to go up by 8.5 percent and sales by 6.5 percent. Rounding out the top 10 are Louisville, Ky., Worcester, Mass., Buffalo, N.Y., Augusta, Ga., Grand Rapids, Mich., Columbia, S.C.
In the 80th spot, Austin was the only Texas city on the list where home prices were projected to decline. Prices in Austin are projected to fall by 6.6 percent, while sales are forecast to rise by 3 percent.
