Playboy was launched in 1953 by 27-year-old Hugh Hefner, wholeft his job as a copywriter at Esquire after he was denied a $5 raise.
Over time, Playboy became ubiquitous, and its most popular issues sold into the millions."Playboy is a personal image. The value of the firm is now likely far smaller.
