The story starts with a Port Arthur Memorial history teacher, Rachel Simmons, and her husband, Rob. Rachel sponsors the history competition as an extracurricular activity. She needed topics. Rob, a sports nut, said they should take advantage of the fact that Jimmy Johnson grew up in Port Arthur. They could make it work by demonstrating how the Herschel trade and Jimmy’s chart changed the NFL.He simply wanted as many picks as he could get. But let’s not get ahead of ourselves.
