The team behind Kristen Stewart's press tour looks for Spencer reveal their tips, tricks, and inspirations—and all the essentials they use to keep Stewart camera ready:

And her press tour has cemented her as the standard-bearer for a certain trademark aesthetic: tiny tops and big pants, smudgy eyeliner, lived-in coiffure. “She is in her essence,” says hairstylistwho tells me he’s been working with Stewart for 16 years. Abergel wanted to telegraph that sense of arrival in the styles he created for Stewart’s press circuit. “There is a maturity in the way we’re playing with textures,” he says.

Other looks recall later decades—particularly Stewart’s aesthetic for the Venice Film Festival, which is pure ’90s grunge. Abergel says he referenced photos offrom the era, which is evident in Stewart’s center part and tousled waves that start from the very crown of her head. Her makeup artist,—who didn’t accompany the actor to Venice, but did mastermind other moments during the tour—found herself referring to her own past work.

Playing the understated screen star in London.She stuck to a warm palette for Stewart’s eyes: ruby, mulberry, burgundy, “punchy.” For her brows—delicate arches far removed from the hard rectangles popularized on Instagram—Dempsey relied on Chanel’s darkest eyebrow pencil, which “gives me that perfect little sketch-up, sketch-down” effect, she says.
Her working relationship with Stewart is longstanding and comfortable, experimental and collaborative. If Stewart doesn’t dig a particular look, “I would hear about it,” she says—but kindly, with tact. Abergel likewise is focused on making Stewart comfortable, converting quick turnarounds and a packed schedule into opportunities for ease and creativity.
