Mykines is a very real island off the westernmost edge of the Faroe Islands, with a population of ten people at the last count, and part of the Kingdom of Denmark. In the Marvel Universe, however, it is owned by Namor, after he won ownership of the island gambling with some Danes. It was then transferred to Emma Frost as a protectorate of the fictitious mutant nation island of Krakoa, and the location for the first Hellfire Gala of the Krakoan Era.
The X-Men/Avengers Free Comic Book Day comic for Saturday, the 6th of May, will introduce a mysterious invader of the New York Krakoan treehouse embassy.
