A virtual life coach who made $60,000 in less than a year shares her advice for building a business based on your passions

She has booked nearly $60,000 in lifetime revenue since creating her company. Amy LeeShe was setting ambitious goals for herself, but also felt pressure from her parents, who had immigrated to the US. She recalled feeling shackled by the weight of it all. After college, Lee realized that instead of climbing the corporate ladder, she could be more successful by pursuing her passion for connecting with people on social media.

Despite the importance of life coaches for many individuals, the industry is unregulated, meaning that there areto become a life coach, as Insider previously reported. This can make finding a qualified coach difficult, but it also means a low barrier to entry for professionals hoping to join the industry, Lee said.

Lee shared her tips for turning a passion into a business opportunity, managing burnout, and investing in yourself.As Lee built her fan base on social media, she started sharing her personal healing journey with her followers and found many were going through similar experiences.managing anxiety "Focus on what you're good at," Lee said, adding that she doesn't enjoy administrative or technology tasks like systems and processing."What does light me up is visuals, creating content, and coaching."
