The first thought for many might immediately go to the sudden rash of big league pitching injuries, but this is not the controversy we are discussing for this story.This one is taking place in youth baseball, primarily what is known as select or travel ball, and it involves a bat that has been one of the most desired by kids and parents in recent memory, the Hype Fire by Easton.
The rush to purchase this bat in recent months has been similar to the quest to secure Stanley Cups or to put it in children’s terms the Cabbage Patch Dolls craze of the eighties. The bottom line, nearly every child swinging a bat has asked about it or, more often than not, has asked for it.
