For background, I’m 75 percent white and 25 percent Black, but I look like a white guy. My wife is 100 percent white. My in-laws say some incredibly racist things around me, and I’m assuming they do this because they sometimes forget that I’m part Black. Usually, I bite my tongue around them to keep the peace, but it’s really affecting me.

Your wife needs to realize how serious this is. I mean, if overt racism isn’t a bridge too far to cut off her parents, then what is? It’s especially awful because they’re disrespecting you and your children in the process because you’re all part Black.
