Education administrators should follow up on the findings of the Ombudsman of the Republic of Indonesia to improve the system for admitting new students.

The discovery of ORI anomalies is not new. In previous years, ORI centers or representatives in several regions have found various similar irregularities in the PPDB, as ORI discovered in 2022 . The findings, coupled with suggestions for improvement, are also always given to the relevant technical ministry/department. However, irregularities in the PPDB continue to occur.

This is understandable because there have been no significant efforts to prevent and overcome the fraud that has occurred so far. The gap betweenstill exists so that people tend to pursue certain schools that are considered superior and have low costs, with various efforts. In addition, it does not appear that there are any sanctions for organizers who commit fraud. Supervision is weak because there are many interested parties.

It is only right for educational institutions to follow up on ORI's findings by auditing and evaluating the implementation of PPDB so far. Comprehensive evaluation is necessary because irregularities have occurred in all PPDB pathways: zoning, affirmation, achievement, or parent relocation. Furthermore, tightening supervision could be the first step to improve the PPDB system. The practice of entrusting students and the continued occurrence of illegal levies are caused by weak supervision. The commitment of the local government as the direct responsible party for the organization of primary to secondary education is crucial. The next homework is to map educational needs in the regions, and serve as a basis for improving the quality of education.
