, and I immediately went to my own personal diva, Amy Grant. I started playing with makeup a little bit, but at the time, I had a pretty busy life and there wasn’t really room for a whole second persona in it. That all changed when the pandemic hit and we found ourselves sheltering in place. Suddenly, I had hours of free time to explore drag, and Flamy really started to come to life online in those early months of the pandemic.
If anyone is doing the grooming, it’s evangelicals who are relentlessly committed to stamping out queerness wherever they see it, even in their own children.Tonight, you’re hosting “Fishnets and Film,” which was first created by artist Robby Kendall in 2021 as a way to screen Kendall’s first dark comedy about a drag queen in a drag show. It has since become a celebration of queer performance art and film with regular events featuring drag performances.
