Indian Finance Minister Urges IMF to Lead in Regulating Crypto — Georgieva Says IMF Ready to Work With India
According to India’s Ministry of Finance, Sitharaman and Georgieva discussed the significance of regulating crypto assets and the need to have a “globally coordinated, synchronized approach to the issue.” In addition, the Indian finance minister urged the IMF to “play a lead role in this regard.” Georgieva tweeted after the meeting with the finance minister Wednesday, confirming that the IMF “stands ready to work” with the Indian finance minister “on climate change, crypto regulation and other global challenges of our times.”
