The lawyer for a doctor who provided abortion services to a 10-year-old rape victim sent a cease-and-desist letter to Indiana Attorney General Todd Rokita.

July 18, 2022 -- The lawyer for a doctor who provided abortion services to a 10-year-old rape victim sent a cease-and-desist letter to Indiana Attorney General Todd Rokita after Rokita suggested the doctor might have broken the law.

DeLaney also said Rokita’s remarks “have the potential to incite harassment or violence from the public which could prevent Dr. Bernard, an Indiana licensed physician, from providing care to her safely.” The story quoted Bernard as saying she performed an abortion on a 10-year-old girl from Ohio who couldn’t get an abortion in her own state because Ohio had outlawed abortion after six weeks.
