In reality, it is difficult to fit the work of these progressive influencers into any pre-existing category of political communication. Policy advocacy? Well, sort of. Journalism? Not really — but if you squint, maybe. Activism? Yes — but also no.

On the other hand, Big Disinfo plays an essentially revanchist role in the public debate over truth-telling.
