$2M in federal funds will be used to improve Alief intersections
recently received $2 million in federal funds to make safety improvements to five intersections in its boundaries.
“We are so appreciative of Congressman Al Green for securing this funding,” IMD Chairman Wea Lee said at a news conference at Alief Community Garden on Thursday morning. “This award, and project, is a big achievement as it represents the IMD’s biggest single capital investment to date.” IMD's Intersection Safety Program aims to improve essential traffic infrastructure, including adding American Disability Act ramps, signs, signals and pavement markings.
