CUPERTINO – A man suffered a “fatal medical event” while driving a big rig in Cupertino earlier this year, according to authorities.
Deputies were called to the 10000 block of Stevens Canyon Road at 6:35 a.m. on June 20 for a report of a solo-vehicle crash involving a big rig, the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement Wednesday. The driver, identified as 57-year-old Sunnyvale resident Gregory Olguin, was pronounced dead at the scene.
An investigation by the Sheriff’s Traffic Accident Reconstruction Specialist Team determined Olguin suffered a fatal medical event while driving the big rig, according to the sheriff’s office. “Sudden cardiac death” was listed as Olguin’s official cause of death.
