Canadian officials said Wednesday that the country will deploy two Airbus CC-150 Polaris aircraft from the Royal Canadian Air Force to help transport Canadians in Israel who want to leave. Officials said the plan is to operate three flights daily--tentatively scheduled to begin as early as Friday--departing from Ben Gurion International Airport and destined to Athens.
and international carriers have canceled dozens of flights to Tel Aviv--among them Air Canada, which flies to Israel from Toronto and Montreal. Canadian officials said there are over 4,200 citizens registered in Israel, and another 470 in Gaza and the West Bank. About 1,000 Canadians in the region have contacted the country’s foreign department to seek help, officials said.
