The sources said ultranationalist ministers Itamar Ben-Gvir and Bezalel Smotrich voted against the decision. As a result, the Egyptians refused to send aid trucks, including fuel trucks, through the Kerem Shalom crossing between Israel and Gaza, the officials said. One of the main shortages in Gaza is fuel — almost none has entered Gaza since May 7, according to one U.S. official.
