More than 26 North Ridgeville businesses and organizations will shine once again during the North Ridgeville Visitors Bureau’s annual Discover the Ridge May 18.

It’s time to Discover the Ridge May 18, support local: Short Takes on Avon , Avon Lake and North Ridgeville

Renovations continue to the library and it will be ready for the city-wide event. Last week construction crews removed the carpet from the main area, entryway and meeting rooms on the north end of the building. A trench was also cut into the floor to run electrical. According to library officials, there wasn’t as much “technology” when the branch was first built. The trench is necessary for all of the updated technology and additional outlets for patron’s personal devices.

Many of the businesses are offering sales, demonstrations and other fun giveaways. There is also an opportunity to win a big screen television in the Discover the Ridge drawing.Learn about the history of Lorain County and celebrate its bicentennial celebration from 2 to 3 p.m. May 11 at the Avon Branch Library, 37485 Harvest Drive.
