The DCU Batman debuts in The Brave and the Bold.

Summary SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT After opening up about the idea of playing Batman, Jake Gyllenhaal has doubled down on being game for a DC Universe future as the Dark Knight. The actor is one of the names that have been suggested by fans to take on the iconic hero in DC's The Brave and the Bold Batman reboot. After Gyllenhaal gave a positive response to playing Batman, DC fans started to campaign for the actor to take on the role.

That does not mean that there are no fan-favorites for who should take on the Dark Knight's cowl in the DCU. The Boys' Jensen Ackles has become the leading candidate in the eyes of fans to play Batman. The actor already voices Bruce Wayne in DC's animated Tomorrowverse, and as Meg Donnelly — the Tomorrowverse's Supergirl voice actress — made it to the screen testing stage for the DCU's Kara Danvers, Ackles has a real shot at Batman.

After the release of Prime Video's Reacher season 2, series star Alan Ritchson became another popular name to play the DCU's Batman. Ritchson has plenty of experience with DC roles, as the actor played Aquaman in Smallville and Hawk in Titans. Both Ackles and Ritchson have expressed interest in playing the DCU's Batman. Aside from the duo, actors like John Krasinski, Theo James, and Gyllenhaal have also had their names linked to the movie through rumors and fan requests.

Batman: The Brave and the Bold The Brave and the Bold is the first Batman movie in James Gunn and Peter Safran's DC Universe, which reboots the Dark Knight after Ben Affleck's take on the character. It introduces Bruce Wayne's son, the Robin Damian Wayne, and draws inspiration from Grant Morrison's work on the comic book character.
