Jets wide receiver Garrett Wilson returned to practice Thursday after he missed time with an ankle sprain over the last week.
Head coach Robert Saleh said before practice that Wilson was going to do positional drills, but he also participated in team drills.Heavy thunderstorms passed through the area on Thursday morning and led the Panthers and Jets to cancel the second day of their joint practices.
Even after the weather cleared, the practice fields at Wofford College were soggy and there were safety concerns. It was a short practice with no pads as they prepared for their game Saturday against the Panthers in Charlotte, N.C. Jet wide receiver Garrett Wilson, catching a pass earlier in training camp, returned to practice after battling an ankle sprain. He had a tough day on Wednesday in the joint practice, throwing a couple of interceptions.
But he bounced back Thursday and made some really nice throws, including a touchdown to Xavier Gipson.“You probably felt like [Wednesday] was not his best day and that’s OK,” Saleh said. “He threw his first interception of camp, it’s been two and a half, almost three weeks now, so he’s been having a good camp. You’re always going to hit a bump in the road I don’t care how good of a quarterback you are.
“Just to see him bounce back and continue and get back on track on the road he’s been on. I’m excited about his direction, he’s in such a great mindset, so it’s just a matter of him just getting back on the horse and rolling.”
