Rodgers, who won’t face the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday, reportedly underwent a “speed bridge” procedure on his left Achilles tendon.
“This is tough. I know he was very excited about this chapter in his life, and I was looking forward to seeing him this weekend,” McCarthy said. “I think we’re all feeling for him personally.’’
This is the first significant injury for Rodgers since he missed the final nine games of the 2017 season with a fractured collarbone. Rodgers had made 82 consecutive starts until getting hurt Monday night.Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott said. “You could tell by the way he went down that it was something more serious than an ankle. I know he’s got a lot of support and I just say lean in on that, man. Just keep faith. Understand that everything happens for a reason. We don’t see it. We don’t understand why. But you just keep faith, take the small victories. A lot of good and somewhere or another is gonna come out of it.”
