Is Jim Harbaugh working towards a new deal with Michigan?
Dan Wolken looks at if Georgia can now be considered the team to beat in college football.Michigan football fans — and the whole college football world, really — are waiting with bated breath about the status of head coach Jim Harbaugh. A year after flirting with the NFL, Harbaugh is at it again.
It appears, though, that a potential long-term deal between Harbaugh and Michigan is coming together, considering what happened Thursday. First, University of Michigan president Santa J. Ono released a statement on Twitter saying that he is having"very positive and constructive conversations" with Harbaugh and athletic director Warde Manuel."Warde Manuel and I both want to see Jim Harbaugh stay as the head football coach of the University of Michigan Wolverines," Ono wrote.
The Michigan football Twitter account responded immediately with a quote tweet, with a Harbaugh statement attached. "I am in full support of President Ono's message to our fans and appreciate his support of me and the team," Harbaugh wrote.
