Joey Logano won his second NASCAR Cup title on Sunday by taking the season's finale at Phoenix Raceway.

Joey Logano withstood a late challenge from his Penske teammate Ryan Blaney to capture his second NASCAR Cup championship in four year, winning the season-ending race at Phoenix Raceway on Sunday.

Logano, who started from the pole position and led more laps than anyone else, was able to outlast his closest challenger among the Championship Four contenders, Ross Chastain, who gamely made up ground over the final 30 laps but couldn't track down the champ, settling for third place. The other two title contenders, Christopher Bell and Chase Elliott, ran into difficulties earlier in the race and were never in serious contention.

Logano's win also made history for Roger Penske, who became the first team owner to win NASCAR and IndyCar season championships in the same season.
