The families of Palestinian prisoners and organizations involved in championing their rights are now blasting “Amira” for being insensitive and misrepresenting their plight. The Royal Film Commission in a statement defended the film but said it decided to pull Amira from the Oscar race because the controversy could be damaging to the Palestinian cause.
