According to “The Mental Health Crisis in America’s Cities and Their Responses to It” 2023 survey, as a response to the crisis, the nearby city of Newark hired two behavioral heath advanced practice nurses for its clinical team and has clinical social workers working with their public safety department “to address trauma and PTSD amongst victims and perpetrators of violence.”
