SALT LAKE CITY — A judge has granted a restraining order that will temporarily block Utah's abortion"trigger law" for 14 days.

3rd District Court Judge Andrew Stone scheduled a hearing Monday afternoon to consider a request from Planned Parenthood of Utah and the American Civil Liberties Union of Utah for an emergency injunction to block the law from being enforced. After hearing from attorneys from Planned Parenthood of Utah and the Utah Attorney General's Office, Judge Stone granted the temporary restraining order — effective immediately and lasting 14 days.He says doctors face felonies, women have medical needs.— Ben Winslow June 27, 2022FOX 13 News first reported on Saturday that the two organizations filed a lawsuit, challenging Utah's ban on elective abortions that went into effect after the U.S. Supreme Court on Friday overturned Roe v. Wade.
