An Ohio judge has refused to dismiss a court case over Vivek Ramaswamy's alleged use of prerecorded calls during his presidential bid.
Failed Republican presidential race contender Vivek Ramaswamy suffered a legal blow when an Ohio judge rejected his bid to get a court case dismissed over his alleged use of prerecorded calls without consent.Judge Michael Watson, from the U.S. District Court for the southern district of Ohio, concluded the court had 'already addressed Defendant's standing arguments and found them without merit at the pleadings stage.
'Then a prerecorded political message from Ramaswamy was allegedly played asking for votes.The lawsuit alleges Ramaswamy must have either 'expressly authorized' these calls or been aware they were taking place and did 'nothing to stop them.'Newsweek contacted Vivek Ramaswamy's office for comment by email.Grant filed his lawsuit under the Telephone Consumer Protection Act.
