The city of Juneau is exploring the possibility of relocating City Hall to three city-owned buildings, citing issues with the current location and the need for more space.
The city of Juneau is considering moving City Hall to three city-owned buildings , including the district office on Glacier Avenue, the Marie Drake building, and Floyd Dryden Middle School. Currently, fewer than half of city employees work at City Hall , with the rest working in rented office space in four other buildings.
The city is exploring these new options due to recent issues, such as a leak in the Marine View Building that damaged equipment and flooded offices, as well as disruptive construction near the current City Hall location
