Your twist should fundamentally change how we see your characters. It should force us to reevaluate everything we thought we knew about them. This human element is what separates a truly great twist from a mere gimmick. The best twists don’t just shock us. They break our hearts, make us question our own beliefs, or leave us feeling exhilarated. They change us as readers.Even the most brilliantly conceived twist can fall flat if it’s not executed properly. Pacing is crucial.
