Shared on IMAX’s YouTube account, the special look at Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes previews the upcoming sci-fi film directed by“Director Wes Ball breathes new life into the global, epic franchise set several generations in the future following Caesar’s reign, the synopsis reads. “Apes are the dominant species living harmoniously with one another and humans have been reduced to living in the shadows.
Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes stars Owen Teague as Noa, Freya Allan as Mae, Kevin Durand as Proximus Caesar, Peter Macon as Raka, Travis Jeffery as Anaya, Lydia Peckham as Soona, and Neil Sandilands as Koro. William H. Macy, Eka Darville, Ras-Samuel Weld A’abzgi, Sara Wiseman, and Dichen Lachman also star in the film, which is set “many years” after the events of 2017’s War for the Planet of the Apes.
The film was written by written by Josh Friedman, Rick Jaffa, Amanda Silver, and Patrick Aison. Aison, Joe Hartwick Jr., Jaffa, Silver, and Jason Reed serve as producers. Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes releases in United States theaters and IMAX on May 10, 2024, from 20th Century Studios. Early previews for the movie begin on May 8, 2024.
