Alley died on Monday after a short battle with colon cancer.
The children said in their statement that Alley was “surrounded by her closest family” at the time of her death and that she “fought with great strength.”
“Our mother’s zest and passion for life, her children, grandchildren and her many animals, not to mention her eternal joy of creating, were unparalleled and leave us inspired to live life to the fullest just as she did,” the announcement continued.a tribute to the late actress. “My dearest Kirstie,” the pro dancer started the post alongside a photo of the pair on the show. “We haven’t spoken lately and I’ll tell you everything when I finally see you, but for now I want to say that I love you very much and I wish you the most peaceful rest,” he wrote of Alley, who danced with Chmerkovskiy in Seasons 12 and 15.Alley in 2013 in New York City.
