Eric Herrera was arrested Tuesday and charged with attempted murder for allegedly stabbing a woman walking her dog in Los Angeles' Mid-Wilshire neighborhood.According to police, Herrera allegedly refused to cooperate and approached them with the samurai sword in his hand.Police and witnesses said the woman was stabbed with a samurai sword and her dog was also killed in the attack.
The cops responded by using a Taser on Herrera, after which he was taken into custody without incident, as seen in a news video showing the suspect sitting handcuffed on the ground. According to the LAPD’s statement, the 43-year-old dog owner was found nearby suffering from multiple cuts to her arm from Herrera’s sword. Officers applied a tourniquet at the scene to stop the bleeding before the woman was taken to a local hospital in stable condition.
