The Los Angeles Football Club has the distinction of being the only Major League Soccer team to qualify for two CONCACAF Champions League finals.

LAFC can now claim to be the only MLS club that came up short twice with North America’s most important professional trophy on the line.

The result secured León’s 3-1 aggregate victory after 180 minutes between the two sides, culminating with their first continental prize since debuting in 1944. Unlike 2020, when León were shutout 3-0 in Los Angeles in a Round of 16 Champions League match that closed their competition, León managed the only goal of their return contest to Southern California.
