The Lakers have some lofty goals this coming year!
Recently, Lakers head coach Darvin Ham spoke about Davis, and how he views the big man in terms of being a top player in the league. Davis has been criticized previously for not being aggressive often enough, which has held him back.
“I mean the door is not closed on a young man that is only 30 years old. I just turned 50 last month, so I have all the faith in the world. We have all the faith in the world in AD. He’s had a tremendous summer, really going to work on his body, his game."Davis has all of the tools to be successful and just needs to stay consistent. That has been his biggest challenge throughout his career, and the one time he put together a consistent run, the Lakers won the NBA title in 2020..
“We’re set up to make a really deep run, but again as I said when I got the job last summer, we’re gonna go as far as our work take us. So we gotta come in each and everyday and prepare and keep that salty taste in our mouth that was left after the Western Conference Finals.”If Davis can stay consistent this season, LA will be a real problem for opposing teams to deal with. He is the engine that drives this team, and they will be relying on him heavily.
