Student advocacy groups at some of the nation’s top law schools are demanding the federal judiciary adopt reforms to make the federal courts a “safe working environment” for women

A request for comment Monday from the Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts and/or Justice Roberts is pending. They express support for Olivia Warren, a law clerk to the late U.S. District Judge Stephen Reinhardt in San Francisco, who testified before a Congressional subcommittee on February 13 that she endured severe sexual harassment for about a year until Judge Reinhardt’s death in 2018 at the age of 87. Warren said she did not report the harassment because she feared it would end her career.
Furthermore, they ask the Conference to expand the role of the federal judiciary’s Office of Judicial Integrity to serve as a “centralized body to aggregate and publish data about reports within the circuits and to offer an alternative, national reporting system to judicial employees.”
