Retour du nom Scout chez Volkswagen : les rumeurs sont confirmées
En septembre 2021, nous vous rapportions une nouvelle concernant une rumeur qui courait à propos du retour du nom Scout dans l’industrie automobile, plus précisément au sein du groupe Volkswagen.
Cette semaine, une nouvelle information, cette fois relayée par le Wall Street Journal , affirmait que Volkswagen renforcerait sa présence en Amérique du Nord en faisant revivre le nom Scout, cette fois sous la forme d’une sous-marque axée sur les véhicules tout-terrain électriques.Le Wall Street Journal expliquait que Scout deviendrait une sous-marque du groupe Volkswagen et que la division posséderait sa propre équipe de direction.
Volkswagen investirait un milliard dans le projet, bien que Reuters évoque un investissement initial de 100 millions d’euros. Les deux publications ont appris qu’une partie du financement proviendrait de sources externes et qu’une introduction en bourse est en préparation. Le lancement de la marque Scout va impliquer la construction d’une nouvelle usine aux États-Unis.
