The National Board of League of Women Voters dissolved the Park Ridge chapter in late September. An investigation by the League's Diversity Equity and Inclusion committee found that Park Ridge violated bylaws and policies relating to DEI and non-partisan issues.

The national board of the League of Women Voters, a nonpartisan, grassroots organization dedicated to voting rights and democracy, disbanded the 70-year-old Park Ridge chapter recently despite the objections of the Park Ridge chapter’s interim officers. “The Board did not take this action lightly,” said a statement provided by the League’s Chief Communications Officer Sarah Courtney.

’” Members of the interim board, who oversaw the Park Ridge chapter after Lopez de Philbrook’s departure, included Cindy Grau, Jennifer Kuzminksi, Beth Rankin and Kim Shaefer. They released a statement disputing the League’s decision to dissolve the Park Ridge chapter. The statement said, “Despite the lack of investigation and non-compliance with its own violation resolution procedure, the voted to withdraw recognition of the 70-year-old on September 30th.
