The Browns defense is broadcasting it's the best in the world.
CLEVELAND, Ohio — The Browns are broadcasting to the world that they’re the best defense in the NFL, and they’re doing it San Francisco style.Stealing the 49ers entrance schtick three hours before they stole their undefeated distinction, the Browns strutted out of the locker room and onto the Cleveland Browns Stadium field on Sunday to 50 Cent’s “I’ll Whip Ya Head Boy” blaring from a boombox carried on the shoulder of Greg Newsome II.
The Browns then proceeded to topple the 49ers from the ranks of the unbeaten, dropping them to 5-1 behind a dominant defensive performance, much like the Seahawks’ “Legion of Boom” Super Bowl-winning unit that set the defensive standard from 2011-18. “We say it all the time, we’re the best in the world as a defense and particularly as a secondary,” Newsome said after the game. “We preach that every single week. It doesn’t matter who we’re playing or whatever, we’re going to stick to what we do and we’re going to execute.”
Newsome isn’t out on the dance floor all by himself on the “best defense in the world” mantra. His fellow defensive backs are all in lockstep.
