The Johnson-Humphrey ticket went on to win the general election in a landslide. That is an example of what a unified Democratic Party can accomplish. May history repeat itself this year.The presidential election this year has inspired in me the urge to put pen to paper. As a member of the middle-class, I watched Barack Obama take the stage Tuesday night at the Democratic National Convention. My expectations were admittedly sky-high.
Most of us are tired of “grievance philosophy” which is exceedingly boring. This creates a generation with no genuine heroes to look up to. The current economic philosophy that the government “will pay for everything” leads to more inflation, entitlement, shortages and price controls. I believe men and women are separate entities and are not interchangeable. To travel down the path of sameness eliminates protections women now have enshrined in law, such as separate sports and locker rooms.Something more should be said about Colin Allred’s history of working across the aisle, and that is how it contrasts with the record of Ted Cruz, Allred’s opponent in the race for a U.S. Senate seat.
