We need to fix these countries — politically and economically — by whatever means necessary. We also need a rational immigration policy. We need these folks to work in the U.S. These are folks who literally risk their lives to get to our country. They should be given respect and given a path to work or even become fellow citizens.I read headlines in newspapers in order to set my priorities for more reading.
Making processing easier and faster just facilitates illegal border crossing. The solution to illegal entry into our country is to first close the border. Next E-verify should be mandatory for all employers. Reform the asylum system so that it is clear who is entitled to asylum and who isn’t and enforce it.

A migrant employment agency in all the border cities matching migrants applications with employers desperately in need of workers is a brilliant solution. Stanton makes some very good points in her letter concerning our border crisis. I too, am an American first and a proud resident of the state of Texas. This state-to-state fighting is getting old. My question is, why aren’t both houses of Congress and the White House getting together to find a solution?
Then there are the ranchers along the border who are losing livestock and having to clean up after these trespassers. And my last question is, why haven’t President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris paid a visit to the border they claim is secured?Gov. Greg Abbott is blaming President Joe Biden for the border problem. Biden has been in office about two years. Abbott has been in office about eight years. Get out the calculator. I think I found the problem and the solution.
