Long Beach police shoot, kill man waving gun on rooftop after he assaulted someone and attempted a carjacking
The incident happened Saturday in the 1100 block of East 17th Street, when police were called to the area for a dispute involving a person armed with a gun.
The man was seen in video from the scene pacing on the roof, gesturing and appearing agitated while he held the handgun. After he refused to put down the gun, officers shot 40mm less-lethal foam projectiles at him, but he still did not comply.
