The Long Island teen left clinging to life after a police cruiser struck him on its way to an emergency call has died — and his family reportedly plans to donate his organs so they can help other k…
Authorities say the cop had a green light and was responding to a 911 call about an elderly woman in medical distress when the crash happened.
But it did not give a reason why, aside from noting that the AG can look into “every incident reported to it where a police officer or a peace officer, including a corrections officer, may have caused the death of a person by an act or omission,” according to a statement. Dozens of friends, family and former teammates from the soccer clubs Anthony played on lined the hospital hallways Wednesday night as the teen’s body was wheeled to the operating room for the organ harvesting procedure. The 13-year-old’s mother Claudia Stinson said she told him how proud she is of him before he died.“Seeing him for the last time, I didn’t expect it and knowing he’s not going to come back,” Randy Guevara, 12, of Bay Shore, told Newsday.
“It’s literally that honorable moment of life that he’s giving to other people right now,” Leonard Achan, president and CEO of LiveOnNY, told Newsday.
