A few notes and observations from the Longhorns' win over the Sooners at the Cotton Bowl...

Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers is congratulated by head coach Steve Sarkisian after a touchdown during the second half of an NCAA college football game against Oklahoma at the Cotton Bowl, Saturday, Oct. 8, 2022, in Dallas. Texas won 49-0. DALLAS — The Golden Hat didn’t sit quite right atop Quinn Ewers’ head. Texas’ quarterback didn’t seem to mind, though.

Ewers made the hard throws look pedestrian and the improbable ones look like child’s play. And after all that, he got to throw on the hat that’s gone back and forth between Austin and Norman, Oklahoma, since 1941. Texas’ offensive line didn’t struggle a bit even with two true freshmen and one sophomore making their first career starts at the Cotton Bowl.
