The creators of the RingsOfPower opening credits revealed most of the secrets about the LOTR show's mystical sequence.
Mark Bashore and Katrina Crawford, the creators behind The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power's opening credits sequence, reveal how it was made and the secret hidden throughout. The Rings of Power is Amazon's new series set in the world of J.R.R. Tolkien's Middle-earth. Instead of the Third Age, which audiences know from Peter Jackson's Hobbit and Lord of the Rings trilogies, Rings of Power takes place thousands of years prior during the less-familiar Second Age.
Crawford: We came with the idea of a main title built from the world of sound, not built from the world of film. But then it becomes this bigger thing. And there are so many layers where the metaphor really worked. So, you can do single frequencies and you can get patterns. You see a diamond and it does feel like magic, but when I put chants in, these sounds are oscillating and changing. You see the transformation where you’re getting things forming and breaking.
