The study involved 33 men who smelled feminine perfume and looked at pictures of women's faces while hooked up to a special hormone.

However, Comninos also said:"It is important to consider that human attraction is not just about smell and facial appreciation.

"There is a multitude of other factors such as body language, personality traits, conversation and so forth. Also, our work is at an early stage and so we really need our colleagues in basic science research to help us understand the precise pathways and mechanisms for what we are seeing."Asked if the hormone could help with low libido in people with mental conditions such as depression, Comninos said:"roles in humans that we are just starting to appreciate.

In order to carry out the study, the team had to work out a way to get the volunteers to sniff a perfume periodically while in an MRI body scanner. To achieve this, the team created a special device featuring plastic tubes passing from a control room to the participants.

Girlfriend Just Wants To Have Low-Key, Laid-Back Valentine's Day Fight This YearGirlfriend Just Wants To Have Low-Key, Laid-Back Valentine's Day Fight This YearBEREA, KY—Saying that she didn’t want to go all out and turn the evening into a “big huge thing,” area woman Caitlin Omstead announced Wednesday that she would prefer to celebrate Valentine’s Day this year with a nice, low-key fight at home with her boyfriend. “The past three years we’ve gotten all dressed up and had these huge arguments out on the town, so this year I feel like just staying in and having a laid-back quarrel at the apartment,” Omstead reportedly told friends, adding that she wouldn’t mind curling up on the couch with a movie only one person likes and bickering about money, household duties, or the car. “Plus, Valentine’s Day is on a Thursday this year, so it’ll be hard to get reservations someplace where we can viciously argue about vacation planning under our breath.” At press time, Omstead’s boyfriend said he didn’t care where they went to squabble as long as they had bitter, resentment-fueled intercourse afterwards.
