Harrison Ford is the one and only Indiana Jones, according to Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy.

Fans of the famous franchise need not worry about an Indiana Jones film without Ford, as the actor is irreplaceable in the role, Kennedy said.

Recasting iconic characters is a recipe for disaster, which Kennedy and Lucasfilm learned the hard way, she explained in an interview with Vanity Fair."There should be moments along the way when you learn things. [Solo] may have certainly been a learning moment. Some people have talked about how, well, maybe Solo should have been a TV show. But even doing Solo as a TV show without Harrison Ford as Han Solo ... it's the same thinking," Kennedy said.

"Maybe I should have recognized this before. We would never make Indiana Jones without Harrison Ford. Having just finished the fifth movie, I can tell you, there wasn't a day I wasn't on set where I wasn't like, 'Yes — this is Indiana Jones.'" Ford, 79, is slated to hit the silver screen in the fifth installment of the franchise, directed by James Mangold, known for Logan, according to a report. The film's plot has been kept under lock and key, but it will reportedly center on Dr. Jones battling old Nazi foes during the 1960s space race.
