Screen Rant had the chance to view nearly 20 minutes of LyleLyleCrocodile footage, and fans of Shawn Mendes' powerful pipes will NOT be disappointed. The heartwarming tale of a crocodile finding his new home is enhanced by Pasek & Paul's tunes:
After witnessing nearly twenty minutes of footage, the first word that comes to mind to mind when describing Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile is joy. The series of children's books from the '60s has been adapted and transformed into an upcoming musical film thanks to the efforts of a very talented crew, and for now, it seems all that hard work is paying off.
Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile: Footage Description & Reaction Lyle may be the titular character, but the footage begins with struggling musician Hector P. Valenti who enters a quant-looking pet shop looking for "something unusual." While lemurs and vampire bats don't do the trick, Hector soon wanders into a back room and happens upon a sight to behold: a tiny singing crocodile .
This is the open secret that is sure to be the key to the film's success. Bardem's Hector cannot believe his eyes and ears when he hears Lyle sing, and there is no doubt the audience will be similarly captivated when the power of Shawn Mendes' pipes is combined with the pleasure of Pasek and Paul's tunes. This is, of course, why Hector must immediately take Lyle home and begin working on a song-and-dance- routine.
This is especially evident in "Rip Up the Recipe," the third song Screen Rant got a sneak peek of, which is how Lyle gets closer with Josh's stepmother Mrs. Primm . As viewers have already inferred from the earliest Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile trailer, Mrs. Primm is at first shocked and horrified by the thought of sharing space with a crocodile. But once he shows his sweet side—and his dulcet tones—she is as charmed by him as her son.
