, the ex-wife of Amazon founder Jeff Bezos who helped him build the billion-dollar company, has pledged $281 million to the Boys & Girls Clubs of America, marking the latest donation ever given to the organization by an individual, the group announced Thursday.Evan Agostini/Invision/APThe gift’s magnitude is “rare” and will have an “incredible impact,” Jim Clark, Boys & Girls Clubs of America president and CEO, said in a statement Thursday.

The Boys & Girls Clubs offers after school and summer programs and mentorship to more than 4.3 million young people annually at more than 4,700 locations across the country, according to the group.
