Magnolia West starting pitcher Caylon Dygert throws against Lake Creek during their game held at Lake Creek Monday, Apr. 10, 2023 in Montgomery, TX.COLLEGE STATION — The ‘Dirt Boys’ performance on the natural surface of Blue Bell Park translated into an extra innings win and the Region III-5A championship series with Lake Creek is now even.
Winning pitcher Caylor Dygert, who went all eight innings and shined at the plate, said that the Mustangs simply went back to work after the 7-2 loss Thursday in Game 1. Dygert help set up what became the winning RBI in the top of the eighth. With one out and Brandon Seidmeyer at first, Dygert sent a single to right field and Seidmeyer sprinted to third.
Blank is a do-it-all guy for the Mustangs. After pitching 4⅓ innings of relief with one run allowed Thursday, Blank was rightfully praised for his bunt planted in front of the batter's box.
