The healing process is underway for victims and witnesses of Wednesday's mass shootings in Lewiston, Maine.
resources A Family Assistance Center is now open for them at the Lewiston Armory, offering a space to grieve and connect with resources. It’s open 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and will remain open for the foreseeable future. People who were injured or present at theIncident Response Manager for the Victim Services Response team Amanda Allen said it's a place for victims to get everything they need all at once.
Victims will be offered valuable resources like mental health help, spiritual care, financial aid, and access to victim advocacy and support services.“When a tragedy like this affects the entire community, isolating oneself can be hard and because of the lockdown that was in place, the shelter in place, a lot of people were isolated,” said Allen.
This is also an opportunity for people to pick up items not deemed evidence, like bowling balls, car keys, purses and other items left behind at the scene. Vehicles left at the bar and bowling alley can also now be moved.
